The enlargement of the European Union includes ten countries -the Czech Republic (CZ), Cyprus (CY), Estonia (EE), Hungary (HU), Latvia (LV), Lithuania (LT), Malta (MT), Poland (PL), Slovakia (SK), and Slovenia (SI)- that accessed the EU in 2004 and four candidate countries of which two -Bulgaria (BG) and Romania (RO)- will access the EU in 2007. Three more countries -Croatia (HR), the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (MK), and Turkey (TR)- are candidate for accession. |
